Popular Music

Fans of quirky indie pop like Sufjan Stevens or Polyphonic Spree might know Annie Clark, alias St. Vincent, from her supporting roles. We liked her quite a bit on her own; her guitar freak-outs alone are worth the price of admission. But she's not for the musically lactose intolerant. Somerville Theater, 55 Davis Square, Somerville, 7:30 p.m.

We heard a lot of Momus in college, when we hung out with architecture students. He's been recording since the mid-80s and never got the memo when postmodernism went out of style. Also? He's a dandy. Mysteriously likeable. Middle East Upstairs, 472 Mass. Ave., Cambridge, 8 p.m. $15.

Ukuleles, Etc.

Bostonist faves Ukulele Noir use small instruments to make a big racket. Johnny D's Uptown, 17 Holland St., Somerville, 8:30 p.m. $15/$5.

New Music

The Boston Modern Orchestra Project brings contemporary music to bars, cafes, and concert halls. Tonight, the group performs its last Club Concert of the season and presents music by Jonathan Bailey Holland, Robert Kirzinger, Theo Loevendie, John Mallia, Eric Moe, Elena Ruehr, and Jan Swafford. Moonshine Room at Club Cafe, 209 Columbus Ave., 6 p.m. $20.

WIne

Our old friends at the Second Glass have caught the classic cocktail flu and have organized tonight's Crash Course around the wine cocktail. The Wine Gallery, 375 Boylston St., Brookline, 7 p.m. $10.
