Drone
The Brooklyn-based drone act Growing is pretty uncompromising when it comes to playing only a handful of tones. Louder now, and more rhythmic, if you only know the band from its early Olympia, Washington days, you might be pleasantly surprised (or annoyed). Performing with Neptune, World Map, and Long Knives. Church of Boston, 69 Kilmarnock St., 8 p.m. $9.
Movies
The Brattle continues its Truffaut retrospective with Stolen Kisses (1968), a further development in the life of Antoine Doinel, the young man we met in The 400 Blows (1959), which also screens today. Antoine, back from the war, learns how to love. Brattle Theatre, 40 Brattle St., Cambridge Tickets and showtimes.
The HFA continues its Dardenne brothers retrospective with You're on My Mind (1992), a rare classically lyrical work from the masters of hard bitten realism. Harvard Film Archive, Carpenter Center, 24 Quincy St., Cambridge, 7 p.m. $8/$6.
Hip Hop

UGGH, 234 Huntington Ave., 6 p.m. Free. And Good Life, 28 Kingston St., 10 p.m. Free.
