Pride

Boston's annual Pride Parade happens today, which means that it's time to get out the feathers, leather, strollers, and parasols. (You can leave the Crocs at home this year.) It's the day when the solidarity between New England's queer communities and its straight communities is on full display. And, if the sunny afternoon forecast is to be believed, God loves gay people. Parade Route begins at Tremont Street in Back Bay and ends at Cambridge Street in the West End. Noon. More information.

The River

The Cambridge River Festival is an annual gathering of diverse artists, including craftspeople, dance performers, and a wide array of music. Banks of the Charles River, Cambridge, Noon to 6 p.m. Free. More information.

Operas By Blow

John Blow's Venus and Adonis is the oldest surviving English opera; Actéon, by Marc-Antoine Charpentier, is also pretty old. Both are extremely accessible, as opera goes, and will be staged in an intimate, chamber setting. A reasonable introduction to what the Boston Early Music Festival is all about. Jordan Hall, New England Conservatory, 30 Gainsborough St., 8 p.m. $45-$105. More information.

Soft Rock

During the heady days of the yacht rock revival, Bostonist caught a Three Dog Night cover band, and it was about the best thing ever. Can the actual Three Dog Night even come close? We have our doubts, but you can take a gander for free tonight. The Hatch Shell, Esplanade, Boston, 7 p.m. Free.

Movies

We were slightly too old to view Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) with anything but disdain for its high-production corruption of the decidedly lo-fi comic book, but we watched it anyway. Those younger than us use the movie as a bizarre cultural marker. Watch them in action tonight. The BU students are mostly gone, so your chances of being puked upon are relatively low. Coolidge Corner Theatre, 290 Harvard St., Brookline, 11:55 p.m. $7.75.
