Art People Watching
The Gardner Museum's After Hours series is a chance for young adults to ogle each other while feigning interest in higher culture. Openings
The SMFA isn't just for youngsters in tapered pants; it also offers continuing education classes to geezers in mom jeans. Maybe. At any rate, ConEdCongeries is an art show featuring the work of the SMFA's continuing education students, and we can vouch that it's evidence that you don't have to be a full time art student to make something that's really good. Grossman Gallery, School of the Museum of Fine Arts, 230 The Fenway, 6 p.m. Free.
Dancing Hipsters
Speaking of tapered pants, Diplo might be the dude who taught hipsters to dance. At the very least, he introduced many of them to Miami Bass, Brazilian Funk, and Baltimore Club music, which, on balance, is a Good Thing. (There's also the matter of "Paper Planes," the hit single he built from a two note Clash sample.) He performs as Major Lazers tonight with his pal Switch, and they will be joined by DJ A-Trak. House of Blues, 15 Lansdowne St., 9 p.m. $10.
