Bostonist went to "What’s Next in Tech: Exploring the Growth Opportunities of 2009 and Beyond" held at Boston University's School of Management last Thursday, June 26th. The event was part of New England Innovation Month and hosted by Future Forward Events LLC in association with The Institute for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization (ITEC).

Hosted by the Boston Globe's Scott Kirsner, the evening was composed of two panels, a panel of venture capitalists (in the above video), and a panel of area entrepreneurs (in the below video). Kirsner posed several questions to each panel who then answered questions posed by audience members. An unofficial vote of the panelists and audience members showed a nearly unanimous feeling of optimism for technology ventures in the Boston area.

The venture capitalist panel was composed of:
- Michael Greeley, General Partner, Flybridge Capital Partners
- Bijan Sabet, General Partner, Spark Capital
- Neil Sequiera, Managing Director, General Catalyst Partners

The entrepreneur panel was composed of:
- Mike Dornbrook, COO, Harmonix Music Systems (makers of "Rock Band")
- Helen Greiner, co-founder of iRobot Corp. and founder of The Droid Works
- Brian Halligan, social media expert and CEO of HubSpot
- Tim Healy, CEO of EnerNOC
- Ellen Rubin, Founder & VP/Product of CloudSwitch

We're a bit sad that New England Innovation Month is coming to an end but there are several events on the near horizon, like the Boston Web Innovators meetup on July 15th, and the Inbound Marketing Summit at the beginning of October.
