Globe Bar and Cafe, 565 Boylston St., 7 p.m. Free.

Country Fairs

The annual Brockton Fair turns 135 this year, and it claims to be "bigger than ever." More than 100 rides, games and attractions shouldn't distract you from the primary reason to attend a country fair: the demolition derby. Through July 12. Tickets and more information.

Weird Music

Swedish lo-fi drone purveyor Jakob Olausson combines American folk music traditions with unsettling dissonance for a freak-out cocktail that sounds like it's coming from an A.M. radio station in hell. Performing with Somerville psychedelicists Concorn Ballet Orchestra. P.A.'s Lounge, 345 Somerville Ave., Somerville, 8:30 p.m. $7/$10.
