Boston Blotter: BPD disciplines cops for steroids, "Boom Boom Room"

--Police officers, like everyone else, sometimes behave badly. Eight officers were suspended after a three-year investigation into steroid use by the BPD, FBI and the U.S Attorney. Four other cops were suspended for visiting the "Boom Boom Room", a Hyde Park brothel. The steroid-related suspensions range from 5-80 days. --Stephen Colahan, 53, of Beverly, pled guilty to stealing millions of dollars in excise taxes due to Boston. Colahan faces 18 months in jail and must repay $1.9 million. [Metro West Daily News]

--A man from Hudson is being held without bail after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman who he had a prior relationship with. He also insulted her and assaulted her with his belt. [Salem News]

--A 17-year old New Bedford resident was arrested on Thursday for allegedly killing an 18-year old mother and wounding her 7-year old boyfriend. The alleged shooter will be charged with murder, armed assault with intent to commit murder and unlawful possession of a firearm, according to the Bristol County D.A.'s office. [Boston Herald]
