With apologies to John Mellencamp, nothing is more American than batshit criminals. Bostonist found a couple of alleged criminals with a hint of patriotic flair.

--A Somerville man allegedly removed a $10 pink bottle of wine from Downtown Wine and Spirits in Davis Square without paying for it. When Police located the individual across the street at a Goodwill store and tried to approach him, he said "Go F yourself. I will kick your a—. Leave me alone. This is f—ing America." He resisted and got pepper sprayed.

--A man from Malden was arrested for robbing two people in Somerville at gunpoint. The suspect was wearing a T-shirt bearing a "Tea-Bagging" logo. A second man is at large. Depending on who you listen to, "Tea-Bagging" is a sex act, or an act in which Americans use their First-Amendment rights to express a political opinion.

All charges alleged until proven under law.
