Reggae
Burning Spear has been a crucial part of roots reggae for 30 years, and his live shows are still pretty otherworldly. A word of caution: hippies are drawn to these concerts for some reason. Paradise Rock Club, 967 Comm. Ave., 7 p.m. (Free in-store performance at Newbury Comics on Newbury Street: 6 p.m.)
Wine
It's another Crash Course Wine Seminar from the Second Glass magazine. This week, the topic is "Straddling the Border," and the border in question is the one between France and Germany. Alsatian wines are an excellent blend of the wineamaking traditions of both countries, and, by the end of the evening, you'll know enough to pick out a bottle of Alsatian wine that you like. Downtown Wine and Spirits, 225 Elm St., Somerville, 7 p.m. $10.
Lectures
Every Bostonian needs to check out the Titian, Tintoretto, Veronese: Rivals in Renaissance Venice exhibit at the MFA, and there's no better time to do so than tonight when Frederick Ilchman will be on hand to walk you through it. Bostonist saw Illchman speak during the press preview for the exhibit, and we can attest to his awesomeness. Remis Auditorium, Museum of Fine Arts, 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
