Tuesday Happenings

The Beehive celebrates Bastille Day in the sleaziest way possible: a showcase of Serge Gainsbourg's music performed by his widow and youngest son. Gainsbourg Etcetera is the name of the ensemble fronted by Bambou and Lulu Gainsbourg, and the group will perform work from Gainsbourg's entire oeuvre, which includes songs about suicide, incest, pedophilia, and serial killers who think their head is a cabbage. Joined by French pop outfit ElodieO. The Beehive, 541 Tremont St., South End, 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tickets and more information.

Hip Hop

Kid Cudi has long been hyped as rap's Next Big Thing, but we preferred the earlier, grittier, tongue-twisting raps about his native Cleveland over his current lovelorn, ganja-tinged work. But we certainly aren't the ones who pay the man's bills. Performing with Asher Roth, B.o.B., and 88 Keys. House of Blues, 15 Lansdowne St., 7 p.m. $35.

Experimental Music

Boston weirdness purveyors Non-Event present Providence's Geoff Mullen and Boston's Keith Fullerton Whitman in a guitar-synthesizer duo that will bring the drone. Cafe Fixe, 1642 Washington St., Brookline, 8 p.m. $5 donation. More information.
