Boston Web Innovators Group Meetup 07/15/2009 from Thomas Attila Lewis on Vimeo.
Bostonist went to the Web Innovators Group Meetup last night aka #webinno at the Royal Sonesta in Cambridge.
We interviewed representatives from half of the presenting companies in the above video. The eager crowd was huge, as usual, and not particularly well behaved as there was a high level of noise and talking during the presentations from both the back of the ballroom as well as the seated area. We felt that there wasn't enough time given to check out the demos before the presentations began - how about giving us 45 minutes instead of 25 next time?
Here are a few other suggestions: demoing/presenting companies should bring at least one decent-sized monitor as crowding around a laptop sucks; demoing/presenting companies need to bring more than just two people to the event; after the presentations, demoing/presenting companies should make sure they have at least one representative at their table in the demo room - we consistently see completely vacant demo tables after the ballroom event is over; hey demoing/presenting companies, if you see someone standing around your table with a camera and microphone, you should find someone to talk to that person if you want to be in the Bostonist video.
