Even Bostonist couldn't get into the highly anticipated Cave In "reunion" show at Great Scott on Sunday night. Fortunately for us, there's the Internet, where dozens of fans lucky enough to grab a ticket in the four seconds that it took for the show to sell out have parlayed their oft emotional responses to the show. Just check out some of Bostonist's favorite tweets from the night:
cplavin: Cave In put "the fuck" in "sold the fuck out."Irepress: Cave-in reunion show tnite in boston. Sold the fuck out. Trying to listen from outside-Sheel
makeminemanda: Just survived the Cave In reunion show. Kinda feel like I've been kicked in the face 1000 times. In a good way xD
joesmiley: Cave In: Luminance, Moral Eclipse, Juggernaut, Treppaning, Big Riff & 5 new ones
aamorris: Thanks, Cave In, for blasting my face off tonight.
If you feel left out of all the excitement, fear not. Word is that the band might reconvene for a show or two in November made its way onto lemmingtrail:
yeah adam promised on stage that they would be playing again in november.
One lemmingtrail member by the name of "the.rog" even mentioned that Gay Gardens will be the location of the group's next show. As of now, that rumor is unconfirmed, but considering the band's background in the all ages hardcore scene, it's a rumor this Bostonist wouldn't mind seeing come to fruition.
Until a November show is announced, Cave In fans can stream the band's new EP, Planets of Old, in its entirety and all for free. After one quick listen, it seems that Cave In have found a solution to quell the cries of both hardcore punks and prog metalheads alike. Planets of Old will hit record stores next week.
