The Moon

Boston's Skeptics in the Pub gather to discuss the race to sample everybody's favorite hunk of cheese in space, The Moon. Jonathan McDowell, a Harvard astrophysicist, will recount the race between the United States and the Soviet Union to reach the moon first. Wine

The Second Glass magazine continues its Crash Course Wine Seminar series with a look at the wines of Italy. Wine Gallery, 375 Boylston St., Brookline, 7 p.m. $10.

Science!

Cafe Sci is an ongoing series of informal science lectures. Tonight's speaker, Don Katz, a neuroscientist at Brandeis, will discuss the neuroscience behind taste. People's Republik, 876 Mass. Ave., Cambridge, 7 p.m. Free.
