Boston Blotter: Parole Board Keeps Vampire Killer From the Light of Day

-- The parole bid of James Riva, the so-called "Vampire Killer," may not have had a lot of gas, but it did give the Herald the chance to run the banner headline "FANGS FOR NOTHIN'." [Herald]

-- A Chelsea man told police that was beaten by a group of East Boston thugs because they thought he was a member of the MS-13 gang. [East Boston Police]

-- A detail cop in Roxbury reports that he watched as a man in a pick-up truck pulled a bicyclist off of his bike and tried to stuff him in the truck before he broke free and escaped. The cop arrested the driver but curiously only charged him with illegal possession of a firearm with obliterated serial numbers, on account of an unmarked Lorcin .380 semi-automatic allegedly found in the truck.
