Has the world gone mad? Our entertainment world has lost its collective mind and has been shaken to its very core. Paula Abdul has left American Idol. The Globe and WEEI appear to have a rapproachment. And, George W. Bush finally thought of a mistake he made. Okay, made that one up. The other two look solid, though.
Turmoil continues to unfold in Boston's highly competitive sports media world. Bostonist is still dealing with the demise of WBCN and now the Globe and WEEI made peace and Globe sports scribes will be back on WEEI, and we can thank Tony Massarotti for it. He's like Switzerland. Mazz is allegedly considering leaving the Globe to join the new WBZ-FM 98.5 The Sports Hub as a co-host with Mike Felger each afternoon. Adam Reilly of the Phoenix still hasn't processed the whole scenario.
The Inside Track said Jason Wolfe of WEEI replied with an "LOL" when he was told WEEI was worried about the new WBZ-FM.
According to all sorts of media, and of course, Paula's Twitter thingie, the flaky, supportive, and possibly under the influence of something judge of the uber reality show is not returning for the show's ninth season. The Globe is treating the news as a possible negotiating ploy by Abdul to get a big raise like Ryan Seacrest and Simon Cowell. But, the show quickly treated it as a done deal. Either way, the Globe's Viewer Discretion TV blog panned the idea of Paula leaving the show.
