-- Three Boston police officers were bit by a pit bull after responding to a three-person disturbance on Dudley Street in Roxbury on Friday. A verbal altercation involving two women was underway. A man became involved, pushed one woman and then attempted to return to the residence. Officers followed the man and then were bitten. Two officers went to Boston Medical Center for treatment and were released. One suspect was arrested and charged with assault and battery and resisting arrest. [BPDNews.com]
-- The six-year old son of Melissa Santiago told Suffolk Superior Court on Wednesday that he wanted his mother's killer to "to stop bothering our mom" in a powerful victim impact statement. Jose Torres was convicted of first-degree murder and received the required sentence of life in prison without parole. [Globe]
-- While walking his dog on Wednesday, a Framingham man allegedly threatened three people with a knife and said he would kill them. Police said they found a six-inch filet knife. The suspect pled not guilty to charges of "assault with a dangerous weapon, threatening to commit a crime and intimidation of a witness" at Framingham District Court. [MetroWest Daily News]
