Opportunities

80s hit makers the Pet Shop Boys are still releasing records and still wearing weird outfits. We'll confess that we haven't heard the duo's newer stuff, but we'd basically pay any price to watch them perform "West End Girls." House of Blues, 15 Lansdowne St., 7 p.m. $39.50 to $49.50.

Dilletantes

Racist rich girl act CocoRosie plays dilletantish experimental fusion music for the trust fund set. Couldn't they book this show in Harvard Yard? Paradise Rock Club, 967 Comm. Ave., 8 p.m. $16.50.

Movies

"Under the Stars: International Movie Nights" brings movies from the four corners of the world to cosmopolitan East Somerville. Tonight's presentation is the Brazilian hit O Ano em Que Meus Pais Saíram de Férias (2006), the story of a boy left on his own in São Paulo during 1970, the tumultuous year of a World Cup championship and the rise of a military dictatorship. 165 Broadway at Cross Street, Somerville, 6:30 p.m. Free.
