$oxtober? Ranger$ Say Otherwise

texaspostseason2.JPG Are you feeling jittery about registering for the chance to buy Sox playoff tickets in the middle of a wild card race? We imagine that people aren't only worried about giving the Sox their credit card information without actually buying anything, there's also the fact that many people think talking about playoffs means you're jinxing playoffs.

If you're a member of this superstitious crew, take heart - and if you're a member of the Boston Red Sox, take notice and get fired up! The Texas Rangers organization isn't just talking about the possibility of playoff tickets, it's selling them. Right now. This moment.

This means that the Rangers - who say on their site that they play for September and not, um, October - are jinxing themselves way more than the Boys of Soxtober, which means that Boston fans need worry less about superstition than identity theft and accidentally winding up with an unwanted subscription to Sports Illustrated. Let's all say it together now: WHEW!
