If identity theft scares you out of trying to get the chance to buy tickets to possible Sox playoff games, and you're not comforted by the Texas Rangers even worse brand of bad karma, there is a solution for you and other pessimists. It's called the 2010 season. Yes, on a day when the push to sell 2009 playoff tickets began, the Red Sox released their 2010 schedule. That's right. Skip the 2009 playoffs entirely! FYI, the 2010 season opens against the Yankees.

Oh, you are so looking at this the wrong way, my friend! They're not being pessimistic - they're psyching us up! The Dodgers are coming into town on June 18. We have plenty of time to gear up for reminding their #99 that he's not in Mannywood anymore!
I will admit to not considering the Manny angle. But, I never think about Manny unless he is thrust upon me.
A lot can happen between now and the 2010 games vs. the LAD. Manny could be somewhere other than LA. If he's with the LA, one of his trick knees could keep him off the field that series. His grandmother might die again.
