  • Congressman Michael Capuano will announce on Friday that he is running for Edward M. Kennedy’s Senate seat. Capuano said he waited to join the race out of respect for Sen. Kennedy. [Boston Herald]

Attorney General/Senate candidate Martha Coakley now supporting the appointment of a temporary Senator to replace Ted Kennedy and momentum growing to change the law to allow it, former Governor Michael Dukakis is being seen as a leading choice for the interim appointment.
