Tuesday Happenings

beledo.jpg Jazz

Beledo, a man whose jazz guitar playing is no less dramatic than his long, flowing mane, will play his blend of Latin jazz tonight at the Uruguayan Jazz and Wine festival. Beledo comes from Montevideo, via New York, and he's bringing some Uruguayan wine with him. The Beehive, 541 Tremont St., South End, 9 p.m.

Gentle Psychedelia

A pair of out-of-towners makes its way to JP tonight for some gentle psych rock. Joshua Burkett has been compared to Six Organs of Admittance and makes a similar droney, dream music with a heavy debt to Old Weird America. Samara Lubelski alternates between psychedelic sunshine pop and wailing drone music. The Whitehaus Collective does not publicize the location of its White House—but if you see young people with dilated pupils, you are probably close. Whitehaus, Jamaica Plain. More information.

Despite its pushy name, Wisconsin-based Decibully plays a gentle, folksy psychedelia that owes more to Syd Barrett than Black Sabbath. With Early Day Miners and Ghost Box Orchestra. TT the Bear's Place, 10 Brookline St., Cambridge, 9 p.m. $9.

Heavy Psychedelia

Portland band Subarachnoid Space, on the other hand, is basically all Sabbath. It's creepy, instrumental psychedelia at its sludgiest. Great Scott, 1222 Comm. Ave., Allston, 9 p.m. $9.
