The anonymous, satirical website GlennBeckRapedandMurderedaYoungGirlin1990 is the brainchild of Isaac Eiland-Hall, according to legal documents filed today with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Switzerland. The papers were filed by Gloucester attorney Marc J. Randazza, who represents Eiland-Hall and who, if this brief is any indication, is among the North Shore's most hilarious legal writers.
The brief responds to a complaint filed with WIPO by right wing pretend journalist Glenn Beck, a notorious internationalist, who says that Eiland-Hall's domain name is both defamatory and an infringement on trademark. Randazza's defense? Hilarious!
Only an abject imbecile could believe that the domain name would have any connection to [Beck] ... We are not here because the domain name could cause confusion. We do not have a declaration from the president of the international association of imbeciles that his members are blankly staring at the Respondent’s website wondering “where did all the race baiting content go?” We are here because Mr. Beck wants Respondent’s website shut down.
The brief, which everybody should read, goes on to explain (hilariously!) the "Gottfried technique" and the idea of an internet meme, including vivid examples like "Mr. Spock Ate My Balls" and "Hitler Hates Kanye West." Randazza concludes that "Mr. Beck has all but begged to become the subject of a meme. His wish has been granted, and then some."
Boy, howdy. You're doing Massachusetts proud, Marc J. Randazza.

Sports Redux: One Goal, And One Goal Only

Ew, I don't get it. How is rape and murder funny? I'd probably go with distasteful. I can't imagine this article being the same if the target was Barack Obama.
Rape and murder are not funny. The legal filing is funny.
Exactly, the legal filing is hilarious.
The link, however, to the filing is broken. Any chance The Bostonist can fix that?
Thanks for the heads up, Janelle. We had two links to the filing and one was screwed up. They both work now.
i'd be a lawyer if i could write things like this all day.
I just wanted to say two things:
1) I've never been a tag on a newspaper site before. That's kinda cool. :)
2) For those that agree with Rick Sawyer and drew, above: Please visit the site and look at the Origin links to see what it's all about. That might change your opinion. And if not, hey, I respect your right to disagree.
