Sports Redux: California Dreamin'

It was a relatively quiet send-off for the Red Sox on Monday. Without the pageantry of Rally Monday, an event that MLB had been adding to post-season revelry since 2004, the Red Sox made their way from Fenway onto the team bus that sent them on their way to California for what is hopefully the first stop on a postseason tour that has grown awfully familiar over the years.

The Red Sox and Angels will battle in ALDS play at some point this week - while it seems relatively obvious that Game 1 will come on Thursday, it all depends on what schedule the Yankees decide to pick after the Twins and Tigers battle it out for a playoff spot this evening.

So make your predictions. Start speculating and join the experts studying stats and chiming in. Shaughnessy's making everyone nervous by taking the Angels for granted. In other words, it's officially October in Boston.

On the football front, everyone's prepping for the reunion between Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels, otherwise known as the Clash of the Hoodies. Ravens coach John Harbaugh, however, is still stuck on Sunday, claiming that Brady got preferential treatment from the refs at Gillette.
