-- The killing of a 100-year old nursing home resident may have become even more shocking with the revelation that investigators may be considering Elizabeth Barrow's roommate as a possible suspect. Barrow's son said the two didn't get along well. Bristol County District Attorney Sam Sutter described her death as "asphixia by manual strangulation." [WCVB]

-- The Boston Police SWAT assisted the Northeastern University Police Department's efforts to apprehend an armed robbery suspect on Thursday. The incident, which might be drug related according to police, involved the suspect displaying a weapon prior to demanding the victim’s laptop computer. The suspect then fled from the scene with the victim’s property. The suspect fled, avoided capture in a Northeastern Police undercover operation, and fled again to the Wentworth Institute of Technology gymnasium. SWAT enterred the gymnasium and couldn't locate the suspect. [BPDNews.com]

-- After a three-hour ordeal, police arrested a Milton man for kidnapping his ex-girlfriend. [Herald]

-- Shawn Jones, 26, of Boston, was sentenced to 2.5 years in jail and five years probation after pleading guilty to charges of perjury and suborning to perjury. Jones reportedly refused to provide truthful information in the shooting death of Ferdinand Saintville, 25, of Somerville. [Somerville Journal]
