Art and Soul
The Beehive's regular "Sting!" events mark the opening of a new art exhibit, and "Sting! 6: Home Grown" celebrates the art of the Beehive's own staff. The evening will feature the work of more than 20 artists as well as the soul stylings of the inimitable Sharon Jones, who, it should be noted, does not work for the Beehive. 541 Tremont St., 6:30 p.m. Free. More information.
Beer Dinners
BeerAdvocate magazine presents yet another beer dinner, focusing this time on Belgian styles and their American counterparts. Food will include rustic Belgian-ish fare like cute little rabbits and deer. Once again, neither for vegetarians nor the poor. Eastern Standard, 528 Comm. Ave., Kenmore Square, 6:30 p.m. $75. More information.
Babies, Corners
The inevitable Patrick Swayze tribute season begins tonight when the Brattle screens Dirty Dancing (1987), which we cannot actually recommend watching. A Dirty Dance party at Zuzu closes out the night. Brattle Theatre, 40 Brattle St., Cambridge, 7:30 p.m. $9.75.
Opera
It's like Cliff's Notes but for opera. Boston Lyric Opera excerpts an hour from Bizet's Carmen and gives it to you for free. Probably slightly better than catching the whole thing, if you ask us, which, we understand, you did not. Boston Public Library, 700 Boylston St., Copley Square, 7 p.m. Free.
Cute Things
Choirs of children are cute, right? And zombies? And actor Ryan Gosling? All of these things happen at once tonight at "Dead Man's Bones." Middle East, 472 Mass. Ave., Cambridge, 8 p.m. $15. More information.

The Beehive event - is that Sharon Jones as in Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings?
