The Celtics cruised past Oklahoma City, 105-87, in a completely uncompetitive game. Boston sprinted to an early first-quarter lead, 23-12 and held it through the half when they led 60-49.

Kevin Garnett's effort in the victory was decisive as has been his play on this four-game road trip. Against Oklahoma City, KG scored 23 and grabbed eight boards. He sparked Boston with a 9 straight points to start the second half and give the Celtics a 69-49 lead. Garnett led Boston in scoring in three of their last four games and, well, he's looking like his old self again.

A total of seven different members of the Green scored in double figures. Paul Pierce added 21 first-half points. Rajon Rondo had 15 points and six assists and Kendrick Perkins finished with 13 points and eight points.

The Montreal Canadiens celebrated the 100th Anniversary of their franchise with a 5-1 rout of the Bruins. Montreal led 1-0 after one period. The Bruins squandered a two-man advantage in the second period which was a sign that something bad was about to happen to Boston. Montreal responded with four second-period goals including three scores from Mike Cammalleri to build a 5-0 lead. Vladimir Sobotka scored for the Bruins.

This is clearly Phil Kessel's fault. We will see what kind of greeting he will get tonight at the Garden.

Charlize Theron was in South Africa Friday, and the 2010 World Cup draw was there, too. United States soccer fan is pleased that the Americans are in Group C with England, Slovenia and Algeria because that means he has heard of one country we will lose to. Facing England means David Beckham versus Landon Donovan and there could be heads butted or some hair pulled, and Americans might sit through an entire match if some violence may happen.

Seriously, England vs. the USA has to be a gift from the soccer gods in terms of generating interest in soccer here. There's a good chance that the USA advances out of that group. Other groups of interest: Group A with France, Mexico, host South Africa and Uruguay; Group G/The Group of Death with Brazil, Portugal, Ivory Coast and North Korea. Brazil and Portugal are legitimate contenders while the Ivory Coast is also a tough squad. North Korea would have to turn over their nukes to switch to an easier group.
