We attended the Santa Speedo Run last year, and had so much fun (especially with a certain Santa, ho ho ho!) that we decided to return. Our photography skills may have declined (in part due to frozen fingers), but the fun did not. As we walked down Boylston toward Lir (where the run begins and ends: gotta get liquored up to bear that chill), our main thought was, "It is really fucking cold." But the runners soldiered on, for a good cause: the Santa Speedo Run is an annual benefit for Crossroads for Kids and Bottom Line. Each of the 500 Santas are required to raise at least $250 to participate in the run, making it a display of generosity as well as flesh.
After leaving the Speedo Run crowds of rosy cheeks and rowdy cheers, we crossed the street to the Pru to warm up. And what to our wondering eyes should appear but a kids' choir and orchestra playing carols? Our bitter, Grinchy heart almost melted a little. Kudos to the runners and the carolers for warming our holiday-hating hearts. View image
