Amanda Palmer Rocks the Golden Globes with Neil Gaiman & Silicone Nipple Shields

As if being a Dresden Doll, putting on high school musicals, naked tweeting, making rad videos, and playing New Year's with the Boston Pops weren't enough, Amanda Palmer has gone and gotten engaged to Neil Gaiman. And last night, she was his date to the Golden Globes, where Gaiman's Coraline was nominated for Best Animated Feature Film (Up won). Never a retiring sort of lass, Palmer (partially) unclothed, then "died" (above) on the red carpet at the Golden Globes.

The Fug Girls dug the dress, but disapproved of Palmer wearing the dress without a slip, as well as taking off her knickers on the red carpet. When she took a poll regarding what to wear to the Golden Globes a few days ago, Palmer suggested she would wear a slip with this (quite beautiful) getup. We're not sure what happened to that plan, other than the many commenters who asked Palmer to go sans slip. But as Neil put it, "It is a very good thing for a shy author to have a famous and extroverted fiancee." And as the Fug Girls put it, "There's always someone at these things." We'll take Amanda Palmer as our someone any day. At least she came prepared with silicone nipple covers.
