So, you're new Senator Scott Brown. You're on Fox News to talk about how horrible the government is, and to get your puss out on national TV in preparation for your 2012 run. And host Neil Cavuto throws you a soft question, asking you to react to the nutball flying his plane into the IRS offices in Austin. Do you:
(a) express sympathy for the families, admit that there are some cracked individuals out there, and move on to another subject?
(b) say all the facts aren't in and you don't want to comment until we know more?
(c) express sympathy for the families, then compare the pilot's state of mind to that of your supporters?
Because you're reading this here, you can probably guess the answer is (c). BlueMassGroup has the video, wherein Senator Brown tells Cavuto:
...I don't know if it's related but I can just sense not only in my election but since being here in Washington, people are frustrated. They want transparency. They want their elected officials to be accountable and open and talk about the things that are affecting their daily lives. So I'm not sure if there's a connection there. I certainly hope not...
So what we learn from this is although flying planes into buildings is wrong, it's certainly understandable in light of the government's failure to do whatever it is that they're failing to do at the moment. That if you voted for Scott Brown, you're not necessarily about to commit an act of domestic terrorism...but same highway, different exits, basically.
