As the Globe reported yesterday, Stop & Shop's grocery worker strike was averted when the union and the company came to a last minute deal. Instead, it's Shaw's workers who are striking, a situation that's a lot less inconvenient for us.
The news came yesterday that Shaw's workers at a distribution warehouse in Methuen voted overwhelmingly to reject a new contract. The warehouse ships perishable food to "all Shaw's and Star Markets in Massachusetts and Rhode Island," which we estimate to be a lot.
