-- A 30-year-old New Hampshire man faces over 20 assault and weapons charges for shooting an AK-47 in the China Lion restaurant in December. His lawyer says he has "mental health issues." The suspect is being held without bail until an April 6 dangerousness hearing. [Lynn Daily Item]

-- A Massachusetts man is in jail while awaiting trial for allegedly killing his girlfriend's 15-month old son in Maine. [Globe]

-- The Supreme Judicial Court ruled 4-3 against a Winchester man suspected in a 2007 murder claim that he wasn't read his Miranda rights. The court ruled his rights were not violated because he had access to his attorney before questioning began. [UHub]

-- A man from Ware, Mass. was man sentenced to two years in federal prison and three years of probation after he pleaded guilty to possessing explosive chemicals and ammunition. [Globe]

-- A Somerville woman was assaulted by another passenger on a Mass Health transport van on March 2 in Cambridge. The victm was called an idiot by the suspect and allegedly punched in the face several times. [Somerville Journal]
