Ólöf Arnalds at T.T. the Bear's

Take Joanna Newsom's chirp-studded melodies and combine it with Björk's dark, cyclical chords and you'll have a close approximation of Ólöf Arnalds, the Icelandic vocalist who recently joined Björk's record label, and played at T.T. the Bear's Friday night.

Arnalds entered the stage looking timid and carefully moved into a series of soft, ethereal songs. She charmed the audience with her heavily accented English and complicated sing-along instructions. She sang beautifully and projected honesty and humility.

Her new-ish album, Við og Við, has garnered rave reviews from Beat Crave and the BBC.

Coming up: Air at the Berklee Performance Center, March 20th.
