Is there enough room on Suffolk County's holiday calendar for Fish Taco Day? El Día de la Taquería Resucitado? Because two days after Evacuation Day, the Hub has a fresh reason to celebrate: El Pelón, the taqueria that burned to the ground in last year's fire on Peterborough Street reopens in its new location today at 5 p.m.
As we reported previously, that new location is no longer convenient for the vast majority of the patrons who once grabbed a fish burrito on their way to Fenway Park. It's all the way in Chestnut Hill, at 2197 Commonwealth Ave, basically right across the street from Boston College. Good news for Eagles, who could use some, and for the lovely people of Brighton, who now have at least one good reason to live in Brighton.
The menu looks more or less the same as it used to (PDF from El Pelón's official site; HTML transcription from Grub Street), but there is only one thing that matters to Bostonist, and that's tasty, tasty fishies. [El Pelon; Twitter]
