Ben & Jerry's Boston Cream Pie: Free Throughout the City (Okay, Three Locations)

ben-jerry-boston-cream-pie.jpg Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Days always inspire lines of sufficient lengths to make us scream, "Ten dollars! We'll pay you ten dollars not to have to wait in this line! Twenty! Someone just get me out of here! I don't even want any ice cream anymore!" But other people really enjoy the idea of waiting forever for free stuff. If you're one of those people, you may want to wait in line for a taste of Boston Cream Pie, the latest (only?) Ben & Jerry's flavor to be both Boston-themed and given away for free for a limited time only.

From 10am to noon (or until they run out) today, three Boston Ben & Jerry's locations will be serving up free scoops of Boston Cream Pie, which features yellow cake pieces, fudge flakes, and pastry cream. It sounds pretty delicious, and perhaps even worth a stroll past participating locations to see if the lines there are less long than the lines to view the Boston Marathon finish. (Our bet's on the ice cream lines being longer.) For hopes of a little pie in your face, visit the B&J's at:

  • 20 Park Plaza
  • 174 Newbury Street
  • 800 Boylston Street (Pru Food Court)

Even if you're not lucky enough to get a free taste of Boston Cream Pie, you'll be in the general vicinity of the Boston Marathon and should take time to soak in the sounds, sweat, and general insanity of the classic Boston event (which pairs nicely with the classic Boston dessert Ben and Jerry have so thoughtfully icecreamified).
