Big weekend for apocalyptic weather events, what with Friday's epic electrical storm and Sunday's flash flooding, not to mention the periodic tornado warnings (is this really Boston??). So naturally we chose this photo of lightning striking the Prudential Tower for today's photo of the day.
Not an easy shot. Obviously it was quite dark and the Pru was far away, but photographer iMatthew managed to give us a taste of the action. We see the formidable lightning bolt and the faint outline of the building. It's dramatic and well timed.
