Senator Steven C. Panagiotakos (D-Lowell) says any casino deal must be done by 8 p.m. tonight. He might have said "Read my lips," too. The Lowell lawmaker said two days are needed to get the bill ready to be filed Friday night so it can be voted on on Saturday's final legislative session. He says 15,000 jobs are in the balance. Lawmakers are meeting at 1:30 p.m. for a shot at a compromise. [Herald]
