There's a crowded field in race to replace retiring state Rep. Brian Wallace in the Fourth Suffolk District. Some candidates are, we guess, connected. Some aren't.
Nicholas Collins is reported to be a former aide to Sen. Jack Hart. His uncle is Richard Paris, the vice president of the Boston firefighters union. Mark McGonagle's father reportedly runs the Boston Housing Authority, and McGonagle volunteered for Tom Menino's reelection campaigns.
Michael McGee went to B.C. High School and moved to South Boston in 2003. He announced his run beforeWallace decided not to run. Jacob Bombard works with the South Boston Neighborhood House. He said he lived in the D Street projects and attended William and Mary on a full academic scholarship.
Patrick Brennan is the only Republican running.
According to the Dorchester Reporter, the district includes South Boston, and parts of Dorchester, including Uphams Corner, Harbor Point and the Polish Triangle.
