They might not have branded anyone with a hot fork, but from the looks of the OTR’s message boards Courtney Holt is much better off far, far away from anyone associated with Phi Epsilon.

I know I'm not the only one who is sick as hell of everyone and their mother trying to claim a connection to the Red Sox as an advertising strategy, and now we have the Green Monstah Apple Store on Boylston. It's downright annoying how every Boston-based business feels the need to ride the World Series wave all the way to the bank. Businesses like Apple are the worst of the bunch because they don't even bother to pay the Red Sox for the privilege of the connection, hence (in theory) not contributing to all-important cause of keeping up with the Yankees' payroll. I expect this kind of behavior from Joey's Pizza Parlor and All-Nite Revue, but you would think that a successful international corporation like Apple would at least be able to pony up the necessary dough for official sponsorship, am I right?

For years I have read about the Church of Scientology and for years I have been sickened by their practices.

When the whole Anonymous movement happened, I was excited. Regardless of the source, a mass response to the church was heartening. Then more and more stories about members of Anonymous being tracked down, harassed, entrapped and incarcerated at the hands of the Church of Scientology started coming out. Now one of those stories comes to pass in Boston regarding a man named Gregg.

He is the individual who has secured every permit for every Anonymous protest to date. Because of that his name is on the public record. Because of that, the church has gone after him with great fervor, resulting in a stack of charges against him 8 inches thick (and before you think this is ridiculous, it is not, the church keeps thorough records of every perceived infraction they feel their critics may have caused)

Gregg received a summons for criminal trespass and criminal harassment. Why?

The Boston anons go out flyering every weekend to raise awareness of their protests. On March 9th the anons that Gregg was with decided to hand deliver the flyers to the Church on Beacon Street in Boston. Maybe not the brighest move, maybe it was to give them a heads-up about the protest, but the fact is that they were approaching a house of worship that should be open to the public at all times. This was not the case

As they walked up the front stairs to the Boston Church, 4 Scientologists came rushing out to stop them and Gregg and the anons handed the Scientologists the flyers. The Scientologists asked the anons to leave and so they did leave, immediately. The anons have it all on video.

However the Church as managed to somehow get this one to stick and brought charges against Gregg.

This is ridiculous. As always, the media is staying away from any story saying anything remotely negative about the church because of their "cancelled" Fair Game policy, though if one reads what Time Magazine went through after publishing their scathing piece on the church, if one looks at how the church is publicizing the names and addresses of Anons on Youtube.com, if one looks at this frivolous lawsuit, you can easily see this is not the case.

Green line service is suspended from Government Center to Lechmere due to a wire problem at North Station. I was just there, looks like there's a stuck Breda on the inbound platform.

The Green Line seems cursed these last few days. On Tuesday, the Cleveland Circle car I boarded had a broken down second car. We limped into Park Street, sat there for over 10 minutes (at rush hour) while the driver did everything he could to convince the powers that be to break the second car off and let us move on. We ended up having to disembark at Park.

Yesterday, there was a disabled train in the subway clogging everything up to Haymarket. Last night, I saw a four-car train (!) crawl down Comm Ave, obviously the result of some kind of equipment failure.

This morning, the inbound D-line I was on crawled through the subway at the lowest speed I have ever seen. The driver had to power it down at every stop, further adding to the delays.

Time for some new equipment, I think.

This afternoon, a message threatening violence with a weapon was found scrawled in the second-floor men's room of Bartlett Hall. UMass Amherst police responded immediately to the area and launched an investigation. Additional officers are patrolling campus. Anyone in the vicinity between 12:50 and 1 p.m. who observed or heard suspicious activity should contact the police at 413-545-2121. Please remain alert and report any suspicious activity to the police.

-that was sent out to umass amherst students as well today.
