The likeness of the Criminal Formerly Known as Clark Rockefeller could be staring at your naked body within 22 and 29 business days. Kosmas Ballis, a Fort Myers, Florida sculptor, has cast 1,000 porcelain bathroom tiles emblazoned with the likeness of Boston's supercriminal Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter, and he's selling them on Ebay for $20 a pop. The silhouette depicts CFKCR's trademark 3/4 askance leer, which makes Bostonist very, very uncomfortable.

--"Clark Rockefeller" was sentenced to 4-5 years in prison just two hours after his conviction on kidnapping and assault charges. Judge Frank Gaziano's sentence matched what prosecutors recommended. [Globe]

The Alleged Criminal Formerly Known as Clark Rockefeller was convicted today after 5 days of jury deliberations on the charge of custodial kidnapping and assault and battery. The ACFKCR was acquitted of of using a false name. Thus, while the question of whether the man is an evil mastermind or a total douche remains unsettled, the question put to the jury—whether or not ACFKCR was sane or not when he kidnapped his daughter has been. It now remains to be seen whether he will be sent to California for questioning in connection with a decades-old double murder.

-- Hired car driver Darryl Hopkins gave testimony in the trial of the Alleged Criminal Formerly Known as Clark Rockefeller, and divulged weird details that could significantly impact the evil-mastermind-or-douche debate. According to Hopkins, Rockefeller went cloak and dagger after hiring the cab driver, eliciting suggestions for a suitable getaway street, practicing jumping into a moving SUV, and paying for a shady and expensive round trip to New York City, all while hiding his alleged intentions of kidnapping his daughter. -- Deanna Watkins, a 29-year-old mother, was shot to death Thursday night in front of her children at their home in Mattapan. Watkins had a troubled history, having drifted in and out of homeless shelters, and police believe that she was targeted by the masked gunman who killed her. [Herald; BPDNews]

-- An armed robbery last night in Mattapan turned into a wild chase, complete with flying slugs, courtesy of a pair of plainsclothes policemen who were "fearing for their safety." Nobody was injured during the shooting, and cops eventually caught up with two of the three suspects, who now face multiple charges. [Herald]

-- Police in the North Shore believe that the same man is behind a series of bank robberies that have happened miles apart in recent days. His alleged exploits have included a failed heist in Arlington, and robberies in Chelsea, Winchester, and Woburn. [WBZ]

-- A 25-year-old Cambridge man was held at gunpoint in Central Square by a pair of thugs who had seen him withdraw money from his bank, which he had planned to use to pay his rent. [Cambridge Chronicle]

The biggest Boston crime story of 2008 might have been the one that got the least media coverage.

-- John Connolly, the former FBI agent who worked in cahoots with legendary Boston gangster Whitey Bulger, is now a convicted murderer. A jury in Miami convicted Connolly of second-degree murder for his role in the 1982 killing of World Jai-Alai president and would-be snitch John Callahan. Hit man John Martoarano, who fired the shot that killed Callahan, had testified that it was Connolly's tip that sent him on his fatal mission. [Herald]

-- A shooting in Roxbury early Saturday morning left police looking for a smashed up Ford Taurus. A man in his late 30s was found shot near Franklin Park at 1:20 a.m. Saturday, and was transported to Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Police seek the Taurus, registration 5021RK, in connection with the crime. [BPDNews]
