Kennedy clanster Caroline is seen by some as a favorite to take over Hillary Clinton's Senate seat as Clinton transitions to Secretary of State in Barack Obama's administration. The New York Times has just put up a question and answer session with Kennedy's staff regarding her positions on the issues and plans for the senate seat once held by Robert F. Kennedy. New York governor David Paterson has jurisdiction over filling the seat once Clinton vacates it. A few excerpts:

No, really, she didn't. Despite that dog and pony show earlier today about conceding--especially if Barack Obama got the magic number of delegates (which he so did), Hillary Clinton just came on CNN to say "I will be making no decisions tonight." She cares too much about those 18 million people who voted for her (does she know there are a few more than 18 million people in this nation?) to throw in the towel now, it seems. Apparently a win in South Dakota is enough to keep her in the running, even though Barry won Montana. Stay tuned for more non-news about the nomination, or at least some quotes from Obama, expected to speak soon. Maybe it will come down to Nebraska after all--Hillary could probably convince the DNC that any Nebraska votes for Romney should count as .25 of a vote for her, right? Will it never end? At least Clinton remains open to the VP spot.
While Young Hillary Clinton fights on with tenacity, the real Hillary Clinton waffles (mmm... waffles). Several reports this morning indicated that she would concede the Democratic presidential nomination to presumed winner Barack Obama tonight. The AP started the dropout rumors, and the Herald picked it up. Now Clinton's campaign says it ain't so, and the Globe reports on the limbo-like situation. The campaign is now clearly saying it "absolutely" won't concede anything until Obama reaches the magic number of 2118 delegates. He currently has 2076.5. Just 41.5 to go! Will everything (or anything) depend on Nebraska come Ju
nely 12? (Answer: no.)
Harvard University Kennedy School of Government professor and Obama adviser Samantha Power, whose events have popped up on Bostonist many times and who has a rep as an extremely smart person, lost some brain cells and called Hillary Clinton a "monster" while a reporter's tape recorder was running. She didn't do Obama any favors.
Massachusetts' legendary senior Senator and national liberal icon, Ted Kennedy. Massachusetts' junior Senator and the 2004 Democratic nominee, John Kerry. Massachusetts' precedent-shattering Governor, Deval Patrick. None of the endorsements were enough for Barack Obama to win the Massachusetts primary.
Republican presidential aspirant and former Massachsuetts governor Mitt Romney is the projected winner of the state of Massachusetts over John McCain this Super Tuesday, according to CNN. And that victory was by no means a given since Romney didn't exactly leave Massachusetts wanting more.
Deval Patrick has been making news lately with the State of the Commonwealth and his public support of presidential candidate Barack Obama. But what of Massachusetts' other top dog, Speaker of the House Sal DiMasi? Bostonist read Paul McMorrow's lengthy Boston Magazine profile of the Speaker of the House and found the article too interesting not to sum up.
Hot on the heels of Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg's endorsement of Barack Obama, Senator Edward M. Kennedy has also endorsed Barack Obama for president.

Hillary Clinton has a strong chance of becoming president, if it weren't for the continued momentum of Barack Obama. However, no matter how much hope and Oprah Obama ladles on the land, Clinton will always have one strong advantage--former president Bill Clinton. Is that entirely fair?
Political junkies have divided the last few months between obsessing over Iowa and New Hampshire and complaining about how much energy is wasted obsessing over Iowa and New Hampshire. Those states, the argument goes, are too white and too small and too rural to represent the country at large. But, while true, it always seems dismissive and elitist (possibly because we're writing this on a iPhone while stopped at a light in a Prius Zipcar.)
Even though the guys who held up the "Iron My Shirt" sign during a Hillary Clinton campaign speech were determined to be pranksters from Boston station WBCN, people are still pissed at Adolfo Gonzalez Jr. and intern Nick Gemelli from WBCN's "Toucher & Rich" show.

Update: No winner for the Democrats yet, which makes CNN look bad because they were calling it for Obama all day.
Don't cry, Hillary. No, seriously, don't. You probably already heard that Hillary Clinton cried at a campaign event (Globe), and it took Bostonist a while to process.
HubTrotter has a great report from New Hampshire. He paid close attention to the license plates and spotted a trend: "Looking around at the cars parked at the Clinton rally, there were quite a few out-of-state plates. Probably no more than two-thirds (and I think it was closer to one-half) of cars had "Live Free or Die" on the plates. And as is the case at many rallies, there seemed to be two reporters and cameramen for every voter."

The political epicenter has shifted from Iowa to New Hampshire, right next door. The state is erupting in general chaos as the politicians who are still in the race are fighting for attention.
The more we hear about Leeland Eisenberg, the disturbed man who took hostages at Hillary Clinton's campaign quarters in Rochester, NH, the more amazing it is that a) he wasn't already in jail and b) that he wasn't able to get help sooner. In an interview with the AP, Eisenberg said he wished the police had killed him. He also told the AP how he came up with the idea: "I'd see things on TV...
Leeland Eisenberg has been named as the man who took staffers hostage yesterday at Hillary Clinton's campaign headquarters in Rochester, NH. He was already a man on the edge when he took the hostages. According to an AP report, his wife was divorcing him, and he was "due in court with her for a domestic violence hearing." He had a record for drunk driving and domestic violence, and he was involved in an odd incident...
A man has taken took people at the headquarters for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign hostage in Rochester, New Hampshire, and he wants wanted to speak to Hillary Clinton. [WBZ, MSNBC] Clinton is was not in New Hampshire. Here is the latest from the thread, with earlier information after the jump: 6:15 pm: IT IS OVER. A young man just ran out of the campaign office. The man who took the hostages followed him. He pulled...
Senator Edward M. Kennedy has just signed an agreement with Grand Central Publishing to write his memoirs. According to the AP, he reportedly will receive money along the lines of $8 or $9 million, similar to what Hillary Clinton and Tony Blair got for their memoirs. NYT is saying it will be $8 million. As if he needs the money. The high advance suggests that Kennedy might actually talk about the juicy stuff--drinking, Joan, Chappaquiddick...
Hillary Clinton at Wellesley Thursday, November 1, 2007, 10:00 am-1:00 pm Alumnae Hall, Wellesley Campus 106 Central Street, Wellesley More info--you will need to print out a confirmation e-mail to attend! Here's a word to describe Hillary Clinton--bold. Right after former Massachusetts governor and presidential aspirant Mitt Romney equated her policies to a "House of Horrors" and said she was nothing more than an "intern," she's blazing into Romney's old stomping grounds. Of course, Clinton...
The United States has a lot to be afraid of: the war in Iraq, the mortgage crisis, wildfires, the gulf between the haves and have nots, and Dick Cheney. But former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney thinks that the nation should really be afraid of Hillary Clinton. In an attempt to celebrate Halloween and trash an opponent at the same time, Mitt Romney told an audience in Iowa, "What do you think about Hillary's House of...
As Hillary Clinton hogs all the airtime, Barack Obama fans flames with his fashion choices, and John Edwards ducks for cover under rumors of infidelity, what is a less-recognized Democratic presidential candidate to do? Offer the public Red Sox tickets. In a clear appeal to New England residents, particularly those in New Hampshire, candidate and Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd is holding a "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" contest. If you donate $20.04 to...
