  • -- A man in his 30s was stabbed to death yesterday afternoon in Roxbury during a scuffle. Based on witness statements, police arrested David Copeland, 29, of Roxbury, who was arraigned on murder charges today. [BPDNews; Globe]

    -- Tormu Prall, the fugitive wanted in connection with a New Jersey arson-homicide, and whom Boston police unwittingly released, is now wanted in connection with a case of suspected arson in Cambridge. Police believe that Prall may have set fire to a Broadway apartment building to smoke out a former girlfriend. Prall is said to frequent Boston and Cambridge homeless shelters as well as the streets of Central Square. [Cambridge Chronicle; Globe]

    -- A knife-wielding East Boston man was shot and killed by Lynn police this morning after a foot pursuit, authorities say. Michael Addesa, 34, was pronounced dead at 2:45am after being transported to Salem Hospital. Police say that Addesa had attempted to cut his own wrists with the knife, which was recovered at the scene. [Herald]

    --Police put out a BOLO ("Be on the lookout") for a recent immigrant from Haiti who speaks no English and who has been missing since Wednesday. His name is Roc Sanon, he is 43 years old, and his photo is to the left. [BPD News]

    --An armed Lynn man was in a standoff with police for seven-and-a-half hours before he was shot and killed this morning. WBZ quotes District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett as saying, "Shots were fired -- again, after attempts to use many non-lethal techniques -- the man was pronounced dead at Lynn Union Hospital at approximately 5:30."     -- Four Salem High School students have pleaded not guilty to charges that they raped a teen girl in a Lynn home late Friday night. The four boys, three 17 year-olds and one 18 year-old, were arraigned Tuesday on charges of aggravated rape. The alleged victim reported the incident to police Saturday morning. [Globe; Herald]

    --A security guard and two other individuals chased down a robber who had stolen from a 66-year-old woman yesterday as she exited a Dorchester convenience store. BPD officers responding to the crime were directed to the suspect by the pack of Good Samaritans. [BPD News]
