The wheels are coming off the bus. After Monday night's debacle in DC and Tuesday's shutout at the hands of Florida, the Bruins desperately needed a strong showing last night, with Toronto in town and their six-seed hanging by a thread.

--Someone found violent messages in women's bathrooms, along with the date of February 28 (tomorrow), at Bridgewater State. Does anyone else think it's just a matter of time before we see a movie titled Like, Totally? (Or maybe there already kind of is one?) We are, like, totes convinced that commas are the wave of the future in movie titles, and this weekend's big releases tend to agree with us.

Tuesday was supposed to be a glorious day. A crowd was to stand in the rain, braving the elements to cheer for the football heroes ambling down roads lined in blue and red. And after the last bits of confetti were cleaned up, the celebratory mass of people would tune in to cheer for their basketball team's winning ways.

Political junkies have divided the last few months between obsessing over Iowa and New Hampshire and complaining about how much energy is wasted obsessing over Iowa and New Hampshire. Those states, the argument goes, are too white and too small and too rural to represent the country at large. But, while true, it always seems dismissive and elitist (possibly because we're writing this on a iPhone while stopped at a light in a Prius Zipcar.)

Bostonist had a sudden urge to saunter over to PA's Lounge tonight, and we're so glad we did. Not only did they have the Pats game on in the bar side, so we could stay updated on the football front, but they also had an evening of sweet (mostly) local sounds on the music side of the venue. Though we (sadly) missed opener Elizabeth Butters, we were able to catch The Battle of Land and Sea, Baba Yaga, and Tiger Saw, all of which put on remarkably simple yet compelling sets that restored our faith in seeing music.

Enza Sambataro may not be a household name, but she inspires a passionate response from baseball fans. She's about to marry the beloved Red Sox player Kevin Youkilis.
