Incompetent State Treasurer and future gubernatorial also-ran Tim Cahill is on a one-man mission to make Scott Brown look like a moderate, Massachusetts Republican. The man who once proclaimed that the state should lose a frivolous, lunatic lawsuit is now courting another group of lunatics by equating Muslims with terrorists. Cahill's job has long been assured by his lackadaisical attitude toward political patronage, but how many racists does he think Massachusetts has? This latest stunt has caused us to consider the imponderable: that Cahill is a Democratic plant designed to wedge fringe voters away from mild-mannered rich guy Charles Baker.

Baker must be pulling some pretty tall dollars if the current headline on Boston.com, "Baker's funds dwarf rivals," is anything to go by.
