That the crew at Universal Hub observed the square peg/round hole relationship to technology sometimes displayed by the Globe comes as no surprise here. In this case, the culprit is Alex Beam's Tuesday column. Bostonist remembers the Globe's odd use of an apparent Twitter-esque reporting style. And, don't forget they might think downloading music is a fad. (FYI, We know it's iPod and not I-POD.) more ›

For a day that featured not a single Boston professional sports team in game mode, Tuesday was jam-packed with sports news. And what made things even more ridiculous was the fact that, for a good portion of the day, one faced difficulty figuring out what news was legit and what was a sports scribe's attempt at an exclusive gone wrong (Tom Brady exclusive, anyone? Will someone please give Alex Beam a copy of Boston Common? Last week the Globe’s lifestyle columnist Alex Beam published what appeared to be an open letter to Jason Binn, head honcho at Niche Media and publisher of Boston Common magazine. The column amused us only because we love sarcasm and anything to do with publisher/personage battles. Last week’s column requests a copy of the hefty mag (even though Beam didn’t make the $250k annually... more ›
