Wednesday's Amber Alert in New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Connecticut ended without incident in Gilsum, New Hampshire as Matthew Slocum, 22, surrendered after several hours of negotiation. He was seen in Adams, Mass. at 5 a.m. and eventually surrendered to he New Hampshire State Police SWAT team in Gilsum. Slocum, wanted for questioning in connection with a fire in White Creek, N.Y. that killed three people, forced girlfriend Loretta Colegrove, 25, and their child, four-month old Raymond Slocum to travel with him. The fire killed his mother, Lisa Harrington and her husband, Dan, and his son. Slocum was driving a black 2003 Ford Mustang and was armed with rifles. Slocum went to prison in 2006 breaking into a house and stealing money. No court appearance was scheduled, or specific charges announced. [WCVB], [Globe]
