Boston Police arrested Walter Mains, 31, of allegedly attacking three women on Sunday in Dorchester's Savin Hill neighborhood near the Savin Hill MBTA station and the intersection of Dorchester Avenue and Harbor View Street. Each attack involved a firearm. He's charged with assault, accosting and annoying, attempted rape, and indecent assault and battery. He is already awaiting trial for a similar 2009 incident. An Amesbury man was arrested and is charged with drug possession with intent to distribute after police found 25 marijuana plants in a secret room. California authorities alerted police to a package coming to the suspect with two pounds of marijuana in it. Steve Bohn, 24, of Peabody was injured in a suicide bomber attack while serving in Afghanistan in 2008. Now, the Army 101st Airborne Division veteran is recovering from emergency surgery after being beaten by two men outside of The Page, a bar in Portsmouth, New Hampshire on Sunday. The Portsmouth Herald reported Bohn said he was assaulted and spit on by a group of people. Police said Bohn and a suspect were asked to leave the bar after an altercation of some kind. Police arrested two men for the assault. One is charged with simple assault and two counts of second-degree assault, and the other faces second degree assault, resisting arrest and simple assault charges. more ›

A Hingham man faces multiple charges, including two counts of aggravated assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, trespassing, and a civil rights violation with injury, after allegedly attacking two people in Waltham last week. Timothy A. Schmitt, 22, of Hingham and Bentley University pleaded not guilty and was held on $2,000 cash bail. Schmitt allegedly attacked a pregnant woman and a deaf black man, and used racial slurs toward them. The man suffered a broken skull bone. A New Hampshire woman was charged with assault after using a taser on a pregnant woman following a road-rage incident that began in Route 3 in Pembroke, Massachusetts and ended in Concord, New Hampshire. The suspect was throwing "bottles and cans" at the other car and the driver called 911. Both cars ended up on I-93 North at Exit 14 in Concord, New Hampshire. At a red light, the suspect got into the seat of the other woman's car and used a taser on her. She was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child. She is being held on $100,000 cash bail. The MBTA suspended a bus driver after the driver allegedly threw coffee into a passing truck in Lynn, striking a passenger. The bus driver was allegedly cut off by the truck Boston and Chestnut streets and the two had an argument over it. The driver faces a court summons. [Globe] more ›

Harwich Police are investigating a suspected violent assault and rape after finding an unconscious woman in the Wishing Well motel on Main Street in Harwich. The woman, reportedly in her 40’s, was allegedly raped on Friday, the day she was hospitalized. The motel owner saw the victim unconscious and having a seizure on the floor in the room. Three Seekonk High School students were arrested today in connection with the death of Jacob Mayo in a hit-and-run crash on I-195 last month. A 20-year old woman from Warren was charged with leaving the scene of an accident after causing personal injury. The Seekonk teens are charged with "three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, trespassing on a state highway, throwing an object onto a state highway, malicious destruction of personal property over $250, and attempt to commit a crime." For the second time in a few days, an armed robbery took place around the Harvard campus on Saturday. A Cambridge man allegedly attempted to rob three Harvard freshmen at gunpoint and then shot at a Cambridge Police officer. The suspect faces armed robbery and assault with intent to murder charges for allegedly stealing wallets, credit cards and cell phones from the students. Yes, a Salem dad pleaded not guilty to three counts of assault by means of a dangerous weapon on Tuesday in Salem District Court. On Thursday, he allegedly shot a paintball gun at 7, 9, and 11-year old girls who were playing outside. The girls identified the shooter. He told police his daughter was the shooter, and said he drank up to four beers before the incident. The daughter told police she told her father not to shoot at the girls. Framingham Police detective Scott Brown, 38, was put on paid administrative leave after being indicted for threatening a citizen with a firearm. On April 29, Brown allegedly urinated on private property while on duty in plainclothes and in an unmarked car. One of the property owner's reportedy questioned the officer, and his response was "stop looking." Her husband questioned Brown and that's when the alleged threat happened. -- Edward Corliss was indicted in February for his alleged connection to the fatal shooting of convenience store clerk Surendra Dangol. He was indicted again for plotting to kill his wife and two other witnesses to the December shooting. Corliss allegedly hired a fellow inmate at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Cedar Junction to kill the trio. His wife died of natural causes on April 1.   • Police responded to reports of a person with a knife near Forbes and Centre Streets in Jamaica Plain. A witness, who would become the victim, told police he heard yelling from a second or third floor of a building. A male voice reportedly said “What! You want some of this?!” The male suspect came outside to confront the victim with a knife. The suspect charged and the victim fled while the suspect yelled “That’s right, you better run!” The suspect was arrested and charged with assault by means of a dangerous weapon. [BPDNews.com]
  • A suspect was arrested and charged with unarmed robbery, larceny over $250.00 and receiving stolen property in Roxbury on Friday morning. The suspect knew the victim and was with her before the robbery allegedly happened. They argued and he took her purse and her suitcase. The victim's phone was in her purse so she couldn't call 911 until she borrowed a passerby's phone. After being provided with a description, officers located the suspect. As they approached him, he said "To be honest with you guys, I just found this down the street. I looked inside and saw all types of cool [stuff].” [BPDNews.com]

A brawl in Providence, R.I. involving a pregnant woman, and a pregnant woman and her two teenage daughters resulted in three stabbing victims and four arrests. Yes. A pregnant woman from Boston stabbed another pregnant woman whose daughters were riding shotgun. The suspect, reportedly 35, eight months pregnant, a mother of three and employed at a Boston hospital, was arraigned Thursday on three counts of assault and released on $1,500 cash bail.
