Our junior Senator, John Kerry, was on a tour of Afghanistan yesterday when bad weather forced the helicopter he was in to make an emergency landing in a stretch of mountains. He had to wait for three hours, while protected by troops on the ground and a F-16 overheard, until a US convoy was able to take him back to an air base. Kerry was traveling with fellow Senate Foreign Relations Committee members Joe......

Much to the dismay of many of us out there, we can thank that overgrown rat from Pennsylvania for six more weeks of winter. Now while this might prove many people’s point that nothing good comes out of that state, Punxsutawney Phil's response means four more weeks of bad weather and dry indoor heating that will take a toll on your skin. Canceling plans to beat the heat at Revere Beach or make way to the Cape may be easy decisions to make – the question remains, however, if Melisa DeMauro will keep her vigil atop a tree through the bad weather. Since Wednesday she's been......

Some mornings, when the sky is low and cloudy and the forecast calls for rain, Bostonist purposely leaves our raincoat home in an attempt (usually fruitless) to will away bad weather. Just so, when the rain and cool temperatures persist into June (see this past weekend), we feel inclined to do warm-weather things to force summer's hand. Luckily, tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday will provide the perfect opportunity, as the Scooper Bowl will be taking place......
