Boston Blotter: Dot Shooter Was a Stymied Suitor

-- More details have emerged in Sunday morning's triple killing outside a Dorchester party. The three victims were friends who were leaving the party when they were detained by a group of men looking to get phone numbers from the women. After their advances were rebuffed, the men allegedly opened fire on the victims' car, killing Anthony Peoples, Chantal Palmer, and Shacora Gaines, and leaving a fourth, unidentified woman, unharmed. Cops brought more than two dozen partygoers in for questioning, but have not made any arrests. [Globe; Herald]

Boston Blotter: Man Found Not Guilty in Cabbie Killing

-- Jashawn Robinson, 22, of Brighton, was acquitted today in the murder of Brookline cab driver Heureur Previlon, who was stabbed to death in 2005. Another man, Cleveland "Sleazy" Martin, had been found guilty in the killing last December. [Universal Hub]

Boston Blotter: Dorchester Death First 2009 Homicide

-- Boston's first murder of 2009 happened last night outside a Dorchester apartment building. A 37-year-old man was shot dead on the steps of the building and his 36-year-old female relative suffered gunshot wounds. The homicide victim was rumored to have gang ties. [Herald]

-- A Barnstable resident found a bag in his front yard containing a loaded .22-caliber pistol, two ammunition magazines, and a t-shirts. No word yet on whether the package was a mislaid NRA schwag bag. [Globe]

-- A man in his 30s was stabbed to death yesterday afternoon in Roxbury during a scuffle. Based on witness statements, police arrested David Copeland, 29, of Roxbury, who was arraigned on murder charges today. [BPDNews; Globe]

--A Level 3 sex offender who didn't register as an offender and left Massachsuetts was tracked down and arrested in Las Vegas. [Boston Globe]

-- A Worcester pastor was arrested this morning for the rape of a 15-year-old boy. Tyrone Forbes, 49, faces charges that he had engaged in a sexual relationship with the child since last November. In addition to serving as pastor at Mount Sinai Church of God in Christ, Forbes also teaches music to children at the Seven Hills Charter School. The alleged victim was not Forbes's student.
