You may have already heard about the brush fire that ripped through the Fens earlier this evening. Heck, you may have singed yourself in the heat. Or maybe you're one of the 50 firefighters it took to put out the blaze. The fire "started on the Fenway side of the Muddy River and eventually jumped over to the Park Drive side," according to the Globe. Some people reported smelling smoke and seeing ash as far away as Kendall and Lechmere. Other people became incensed about the fire and demanded that the city commit to eradicate all reeds in the Fens, forever, for the rest of time. Still others blamed displeased Yankee fans for the fire. And rcolonna took a picture of the action from a bird's perspective. Given today's earlier mentions of turkeys and chicks, we thought it only fitting to continue the bird obsession by bringing geese into the picture. Mike Mennonno has impressive before and after shots. [Globe, UHub]
