The New York Post posits that "Beantown's bad news" for the New York Times Company. Apparently the Globe is bleeding money, with its ad revenue down 12% compared to the NYT's 0.7% drop. Help-wanted and auto ads in particular were down, with around 30% drops each. Apparently no one's hiring and no one's getting rid of cars despite those ginormous gas prices. Sigh. Times ads actually grew nearly 7% and circulation for the Times group was up 3.3%. So does this mean the NYT will drop the Globe? And what will that mean for Boston?
